About Cherokee Trail Veterinary Hospital
Cherokee Trail Veterinary Hospital is a full-service animal hospital providing friendly, informative, and supportive services for you and your pet. We access a wide range of options, from the latest technology to a gentle touch, as part of the healing process.
History of our Lexington Animal Hospital
Cherokee Trail Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1976 by Dr. Eddie Huckabee. Dr. Ginger Macaulay came to the practice in 1986 and purchased Cherokee Trail in 1998 when Dr. Huckabee retired.
We have grown since that time, adding new staff and doctors. Dr. Heyward Boyette joined the practice in 1998 and became a partner in 2000. We moved into our new, state-of-the-art facility in 2005.
Our Standard of Excellence
We are committed to excellence in all aspects of our practice and are proud to be an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital. One of only a handful of practices in the greater Columbia area to earn this credential, our hospital meets the rigorous standards set by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).
AAHA is the only organization that accredits animal hospitals throughout the United States and Canada. AAHA-accredited hospitals voluntarily choose to be evaluated on more than 800 standards in the following areas: quality of care, diagnostics and pharmacy, management, medical records, and facility.
