Lexington, Suffolk and West Columbia Veterinarians Dedicated to Compassionate Dog and Cat Care

At Cherokee Trail Veterinary Hospital, our goal is to provide each of our patients with the best dog and cat care
possible. Our team displays an unrivaled dedication to continuing
education and technological advances in veterinary medicine. Most
importantly, we strive to administer compassionate care to all pets
entrusted to us. It does not matter whether care is for routine health
exams, vaccinations, animal surgery, or spay and neuter services. While we respect all animals, our animal hospital service is focused on the veterinary needs of dogs and cats.
About Our Animal Vet Clinic, Our Staff, and Our Services
We are a full service animal vet clinic serving pets in the Lexington, Suffolk and West Columbia areas. We offer comprehensive dog and cat care, including vaccinations, animal surgery, dental care, spay and neuter services, radiology, and ultrasounds.
We are also proud to be one of the few veterinary hospitals in the
area to be certified by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).
The AAHA is the only organization that accredits animal hospitals
throughout the U.S. and Canada, making the certification quite
prestigious. All AAHA-accredited hospitals voluntarily choose to be
evaluated on over 800 standards including quality of care, diagnostic
and pharmacy, management, medical records and facility. We are very
proud of the commendation, and strive to continually meet the criteria
needed in order to remain in good standing with the AAHA.
Cherokee Trail Veterinary Hospital is an open clinic, allowing all
pet owners to take a tour or visit their pets at any time. We have six veterinarians
on our staff: Dr. Ginger Macaulay, Dr. Heyward Boyette, Dr. Crystal
Knight, Dr. Mary Keisler, Dr. Kennerly Bast, and Dr. Cara McKinnon. In
the Meet Our Team section, we invite you to get to know the rest of our
committed veterinary staff. We also have doctors available at our sister
hospital, Lake Murray Animal Hospital, to serve patients in Gilbert,
Leesville, Batesburg, Lexington, and West Columbia. Both of our
veterinary hospitals are committed to the meeting the same excellent dog
and cat care standards.
Please feel free to take a look around our website to get to know
our clinic a bit better. Also, take advantage of our complimentary
website membership, which offers articles and tips on how to enrich the
lives of pets. Examples include the importance of vaccinations, common types of animal surgery, and reasons to spay and neuter
your pets. Learn more about our practice through our virtual tour and
find out about a few common tools used within our practice. In addition
to these sections, we also invite you to visit our Veterinary Tools
area. In this section we have shared comparative digital x-rays of
several common conditions that we treat, such as hip dysplasia, broken
limbs, and bladder stones.
Lexington, Suffolk and West Columbia pet owners
interested in taking advantage of our services for vaccinations, animal
surgery, dental care, spay and neuter services, radiology, ultrasound,
